Leseko S. Makhetha is a lecturer at the National University of Lesotho in the Department of Economics and is the Head of the Department. He pursued his PhD in Economics at Peking University. He is an Advisory Academic Board Member of the African Economic Research Consortium. His research interests include foreign direct investment, growth and finance. He is also a
coordinator for the World Trade Organization Chairs Programme at the National University of Lesotho, and heads the Lesotho National Human Development Report in collaboration with the United National Development Programme (UNDP). His dissertation, collaboratively supervised under the World Trade Organization programme for Doctoral Students, was awarded a 2022 Third Prize Peking University Baoping African Studies Distinction Thesis Award.
