Sand Mba Kalu is an international trade and investment expert for the African market with more than 15 years’ experience working in a multicultural environment. He is the current Executive Director at Africa International Trade and Commerce Research. His achievements include being a lead

technical consultant for the first independent study on the potential benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for Nigeria. His research work has been presented at a public hearing in the European Parliament, and he actively participated in the UN Policy Hackathon on Model Provisions for Trade in Times of Crisis and Pandemic. Sand is pursuing a PhD at the University of Cape Town, Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance. He holds a certificate in Trade Negotiations in an Era of Uncertainty from the European University Institute, Italy, a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade and an MSc in International Business Management, both from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom.
