Research Manager | Just Energy Transition Investment Plan Project Management Unit (JET IP PMU)

Baba–Tamana Gqubule is Research Manager in the Just Energy Transition Investment Plan Project Management Unit (JET IP PMU) in the South African Presidency. Prior to joining the JET IP PMU, Baba was a development economist in the Presidential Climate Finance Task Team (PCFTT). Prior to joining the PCFTT, Baba was a Senior Economist at TIPS where she was involved in sector-specific policy research, which explored how the structure of the South African manufacturing industry influenced gender equality and developmental outcomes. She has a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a Bachelor of Economics Honours Degree from Rhodes University.
