Ayanda Hlatshwayo is Director: Secondary Sector in the National Treasury of South Africa’s Microeconomic Policy Unit in the Economic Policy Division. Her current position focuses on industrial policy, manufacturing and trade. She serves as a part-time commissioner on the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC). She holds a PhD in economics from the University of Stellenbosch. Her research focused on labour mobility, wages, productivity and foreign-connected firms in the formal South African labour market.
