Itumeleng Mokoena is an Economist at TIPS. He has worked on several projects across different sectors including financial services, government and manufacturing. Prior to joining TIPS in 2020, Itumeleng worked as an Intern at Genesis Analytics. Itumeleng holds both BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and BA Honours in Politics and International Relations (with
distinction) from the University of Johannesburg. He holds a Masters in International Relations (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town. His Masters' dissertation investigated the impact of private capital flows on South Africa's developmental state agenda. Itumeleng is an MPhil candidate in Industrial Policy at the School of Economics at the University of Johannesburg. His broad research interests include financialisation, industrial development, and developmental states.
