Head: Research and Innovation | Nafasi Water Technologies

Rendani Mamphiswana is an innovation expert and policy scholar. Trained as a process engineer, he has diverse professional experience in chemicals, energy, water, non-profit, public policy, and academia. He is Head of Research and Innovation at Nafasi Water Technologies. He lectures, conducts research and supervises postgraduate students on innovation and policy at Wits Business School, University of Pretoria, and University of Johannesburg. He also serves in various other roles such as board member of The Innovation Hub (a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency), and advisory board member to the Faculty of Engineering Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria. He was part of the 2023 African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics (APORDE). He is a TEDx speaker and holds a PhD in Innovation Policy and Management from the University of Johannesburg.
