Senior Lecturer, University of Namibia

Dr Canicio Dzingirai is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Namibia, Economics Department. He has more than 17 years of experience as a trade and finance economist, consultant, and development practitioner. He has consulted for many regional and international organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Commonwealth Local Government Forum and the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa. He has published extensively in specialised journals. He holds a PhD, Masters, and Bachelor (Hons) in Economics and MSc in Banking and Financial Services. He also holds certifications from international training institutes such as the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning, University English Centres of Australia, UN Conference on Trade and Development and the Institute for New Economic Thinking's Young Scholars Initiative. He attended and presented at various international conferences organised by UNECA, African Development Bank, UNDP and TIPS.
