Dr Rendani Mamphiswana is Innovation Director at iCatalysis Hub, an innovation and policy research boutique that he founded in 2024, and Professor of Practice on Innovation and Policy at the University of Johannesburg. He is a former Board Member of The Innovation Hub and was a member of the Presidential Commission in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Dr Mamphiswana has over 16 years in research, engineering, technology, innovation and policy. His core research area is the innovation and industrialisation nexus in the Global South. He holds a PhD in Innovation Policy and Management from the University of Johannesburg. As part of his PhD, he developed an alternate conceptual lens to guiding and promoting innovation in emerging South Africa.
