Zamokwakhe Ludidi Somhlaba is a Senior Public Policy, Political Risk and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor with more than two decades of experience spanning the South African government, multilateral institutions, research organisations and strategic advisory firms. He serves as Political Risk Advisory and Research Manager at Frontline Africa Advisory, where he leads research and provides strategic advice. His portfolio includes mining, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, petrochemicals, defence and digital technologies. Prior to joining Frontline Africa Advisory, he held senior positions in the Department of Public Service and Administration, where he managed African governance and international cooperation programmes; coordinated South Africa's participation in continental governance initiatives, and advised ministerial principals on public administration and governance matters. He also served in the former Department of Foreign Affairs (now the Department of International Relations and Cooperation); contributed to the African Peer Review Mechanism, and worked as a researcher with the Africa Institute of South Africa and the Public Service Accountability Monitor. He holds a Master of Arts in International Studies (African Political Economy), a Postgraduate Diploma in International Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes University.
