Dr Brandon Davoren is an electric mobility, battery systems, and energy transition specialist with experience spanning research, technology commercialisation, and industrial development. His work sits at the intersection of clean technology, innovation, policy, and implementation, with a focus on supporting South Africa’s transition toward New Energy Vehicles, energy storage, and low-carbon industrial systems. Brandon has held roles across academia, applied research, industry-facing technical programmes, and innovation funding. His experience includes battery materials research, electric vehicles and energy storage testing, innovation portfolio management, commercialisation strategy,  and the integration of workstreams within the Just Energy Transition environment. His work includes support for implementation, planning and coordination within South Africa’s national New Energy Vehicle transition, helping align work across infrastructure, public transport electrification, mobility, industrial development, skills, finance, and municipal readiness. He has a PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
