Dale Trimble is a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town, where his research focuses on industrial policy, trade, structural transformation, and inclusive development in Africa. He holds a MPhil from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance and has extensive experience leading large-scale monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning systems that inform public policy and development practice.

Dale serves as a National Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Manager, leading the design of evidence systems, impact evaluations, and data-driven decision-making across complex development programmes. His work bridges academic research and applied policy, with a particular interest in industrial development, state capability, labour markets, and evidence-informed policymaking.

His research seeks to advance practical policy solutions that promote inclusive economic transformation, productive employment, and sustainable development across the African continent.
