Dr Kiru Sichoongwe is a Zambian economist, Senior Lecturer in Economics at ZCAS University, Zambia, and Senior Research Associate with the DSI/NRF South African Research Chair in Industrial Development at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. His research focuses on industrial policy, structural transformation, economic development, climate change, labour markets, and innovation. He actively engages in research, consultancy, and public outreach to inform policy debates and support evidence-based policymaking for sustainable and inclusive economic development in Africa. He holds a PhD in Economics from Peking University, China.
