Amélia David Machava is pursuing her PhD in Development and Society and holds a Master’s degree in Rural Sociology and Development Management from Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM). She serves as a University Assistant at UEM’s Faculty of Education. Her academic work is centred on public policy analysis, with a strong emphasis on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and their implications for local communities. She investigates how SEZs contribute to economic and social development, while also addressing the challenges of workforce qualification and employability in the context of sustainable growth. She has published scholarly articles in scientific journals and participates in international academic forums. Her contributions include presentations at the Iberian Congress of African Studies, the European Sociological Association, the Portuguese Congress of Sociology, and conferences organised by Eduardo Mondlane University.
