Senior Lecturer and Economist, The University of Zululand

Dr Bongumusa Prince Makhoba is an NRF Y2-Rated Senior Lecturer and Economist at the University of Zululand, in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law. He is a member of the South African Young Academy of Science, Economic Development Council of South Africa, and the Pan-African Scientific Research Council.

His research interest is in macroeconomics and development economics, where he has published several research articles in accredited peer-reviewed journals, applying cutting-edge econometric methods for economic policy analysis. Dr Makhoba has participated in several local and international conferences and programmes, including in countries such as Italy, Germany, and Poland. He holds a PhD in Economics (UNIZULU), PGDHE (UKZN), Master’s in Economics (UNIZULU), Honours Economics (UNIZULU), BCom Economics (UNIZULU), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Unisa).
