Dr Kolisa Sinyanya is a marine biogeochemist, science communicator, and the founder of Ulwazi Scientific Communications, Research & Ocean Consulting, a pioneering African research firm dedicated to advancing inclusive, policy-oriented scientific engagement. She has a background in education, public engagement, and environmental justice. Her work bridges ocean science, entrepreneurship, and industrial policy to ensure Africa’s coastal communities are central in blue and green development pathways. Her expertise translates complex scientific knowledge into actionable strategies supporting regional trade, industrialisation, and climate resilience, particularly through skills development, education reform, and youth empowerment. Dr Sinyanya has represented Africa at high-level platforms such as the UN Ocean Decade Conference and European Parliament. . She holds a PhD in Ocean Biogeochemistry from the University of Cape Town.
