Economist: Sustainable Development, TIPS

Sinazo Ntsonge is an Economist: Sustainable Development at TIPS. Before joining TIPS, she worked as a consultant with The Presidency, collaborating with the World Bank, to contribute to the coordination and communication strategy for the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) and youth employment policy. She also supported programme design for the PYEI’s National Pathway Management Network in partnership with GIZ. Her professional background includes internships with Africa Practice and Urban-Econ Development Economists, as well as lecturing third-year Environmental Economics and first-year Macroeconomics at Rhodes University. Sinazo holds a PhD in Economics from Rhodes University, where her research focused on evaluating the socioeconomic impact of environmental public employment programmes. She has an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from Rhodes University and a Graduate Certificate in Gender Analysis in Economics from the American University in Washington, D.C. Her research interests include sustainable development, public policy, gender economics, and informal market value chains. She has presented her work at local and international conferences and is a member of the International Association for Feminist Economics.
