Dale Trimble is a PhD candidate in Political Studies at the University of Cape Town, where his research explores the political economy of development, with a focus on the social foundations of inclusive growth and long-term economic resilience. He holds an MPhil in Development Policy and Practice from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town, where he developed a strong interest in how policy can bridge social development and economic transformation.
His work aligns with the objectives of the AfCFTA, examining how climate-responsive and socially inclusive strategies can support sustainable trade integration across the continent. His research engages with themes such as trade, climate change, and human capital investment, highlighting the importance of social systems in underpinning equitable and climate-resilient development.
