Senior Lecturer, University of Namibia

Dr Canicio Dzingirai is a Senior Lecturer in the at University of Namibia, Economics Department of the University of Namibia. He is an accomplished trade and finance economist, consultant, researcher and development practitioner with experience exceeding 17 years. Dr Dzingirai has been awarded grants and consulted by many regional and international organisations including UNDP, UNECA, Commonwealth Local Government Forum and the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa. Dr Dzingirai has published extensively in journalis specializing in banking, financial economics, trade, applied micro-and macroeconomics and econometrics. He holds a PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor (Hons) in Economics and an MSc in Banking and Financial Services. He also holds certifications from international training institutes such as that African Institute for Economic Development and Planning, UECA, UNCTAD and Institute for New Economic Thinking’s Young Scholars Initiative. Dr Dzingirai attended and presented at various international conferences including ones organised by UNECA, AfDB, UNDP and TIPS.
